MONIKA FELICE SMITH is a professional choreographer, director, movement coach, & dancer from NY, currently based in Los Angeles, CA. Monika’s recent work includes choreographing Olivia Rodrigo’s SOUR PROM concert film as well as collaborations with viral musical sensation Bella Poarch, FINNEAS, and Bebe Rexha. Justin Timberlake has stated that Monika Felice Smith is ‘One To Watch.
Having transitioned to the contemporary & commercial hip-hop world from classical ballet & pointe, Monika’s choreography blends a fusion of both technical contemporary & hip-hop vibes. Monika’s additional collaborations include music videos & live sets for artists such as Alessia Cara, Twenty One Pilots, Ashe, Young Thug, Gunna, Sam Fischer, Woosung, Audrey Mika, Ingrid Andress, Jessie Murph, and Sky Katz (Disney), among many others. Monika’s work can also be seen in the feature films The Relationtrip, Pivot, and Lunch Ladies.
Her collaboration on FINNEAS’ Let’s Fall in Love For The Night video garnered an MTV VMA nomination for Best Alternative Music Video. She has also received a UKMVA nomination for Best Choreography in a Video & Best Dance/Electronic Video for Waze & Odyssey, Tommy Theo, George Michael & Mary J. Blige’s “Always” video. For the “Always” video Monika and the production team garnered the “How The Hell Did They Do That?” Award at SXSW 2021.
In the commercial space, Monika has choreographed and provided movement coaching on campaigns for Spyder Athletics (Milan Virtual Fashion Week), Nike x Jordan, JustFab, Fabletics, Flaunt Magazine, Man About Town Magazine, and Facebook, among others
In addition to her busy professional career, Monika enjoys teaching master classes & workshops. Monika is the founder & director of LUME Dance, alongside choreographer & business partner MaryAnn Chavez.
Monika works regularly developing musical artists, choreographing their stage sets, music videos, and social content. Her strength lies in storytelling and fusing movement with intention & raw emotion. She enjoys playing with shape, texture, and musicality while grounding her choreography with technical elements. Monika is excited to share and instill her love of movement with all audiences in all forms.
