Dave Scott danced his way “straight outta Compton” and straight into Hollywood. He has successfully developed a multi- faceted career in dance, choreography, and production spanning music, film, television, and commercials. He has completed several projects for both film and television this year, including “High Strung” which he produced and choreographed and won his second Fred Astaire Award . Dave will be appearing on So You Think You Can Dance for his 14th season this May as well as online multimedia platforms such as DanceOn network.
Dave choreographed the 2015 Industry Dance Awards opening number which received rave reviews. Dave’s voice and moves are used in The Black Eyed Pea Experience for Kinect on Xbox and The Hip Hop Dance Experience now in stores. Battle of the Year: Dreamteam was the first ever worldwide release of an all b-boy film for which he is also co -producer/choreographer. You've seen Dave’s moves on the big screen in the 3D phenomenon- Step Up 3D (award for Best Choreography in a feature film at the World of Dance Awards) and the romantic comedy Maid of Honor. Featured onDancing with the Stars and has hosted the hit MTV showCountdown to American’s Best Dance Crew.
Other theatrical credits: Dance Flick, Stomp the Yard, You Got Served (garnered him the 10th Annual Choreography Award for Best Choreography in a Feature) and Step Up 2 (Fred Astaire Award).
Scott was the key ingredient behind the success of B2K, giving them their name, style, and choreography. In just two years, B2K scored two platinum albums and headlined sold-out tours nationwide.
He’s also lent his talent to the Fox TV success Bones, and choreographed dance sequences in 2004’s Coach Carter starring Samuel Jackson. Scott has graced the covers of virtually every industry publication including Dance Spirit and Arena Magazine, as well as features in L.A. Times West Magazine, King, Vibe, and Grip, and has performed at every major award show.
He continues to teach master classes in dance nationwide and to inspire kids and adults of all ages.
