ADE response to the COVID-19 outbreak
Dear ADE Dance Family,
We at ADE, are committed to putting safety first. We have been monitoring the situation constantly, daily, if not several times a day. We at ADE are following all guidelines as issued by the CDC (Center for Disease Control) and the WHO (World Health Organization).
We have suspended our Boston Event March 13-15th out of rising fears of a government lockdown and the escalating cases surrounding the Boston metro area.
Chicago, IL is Now postponed to May 15-17th, 2020
Orlando, FL is NOW postponed to May 29-31, 2020:
Please check back for updates in the coming days. We will also be sending emails about the status of each event as we confirm details.
We ask during this stressful time to be patient as we want to hear all your individual concerns but responses may be delayed.
As a "boutique" dance convention/competition our attendance is capped below the 500 participant threshold that is defined as a large-scale gathering.
We encourage everyone to review the current recommended guidelines as provided by the above organizations:
-Urge anyone who is sick to not attend.
-Encourage those who are at higher risk for serious illness to not attend. People at higher risk of severe illness include older adults and those with chronic medical conditions.
- Everyone is to follow increased hygiene, such as: Washing their hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
If soap and water are not available, alcohol-based hand sanitizer can be used in a pinch.
-Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
-Covering their cough or sneeze with a tissue - if available - or into their elbow
At this point, all of our venues are operating as usual with additional precautions such as:
-Placing hand sanitizers in various public areas within the hotels
-Routinely cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, including thorough disinfecting of bathrooms in public spaces
-Checking guest’s well-being during the check-in/registration process
If your state has been declared a state of emergency - please note that it is a precautionary measure by your state government to ensure that resources and funding are more easily accessible to handle this evolving issue.
What is the State of Emergency?
The Governor declares a State of Emergency to require State aid to supplement local resources in preventing or alleviating damages, loss, hardship or suffering.
This declaration authorizes the Governor to speed State agency assistance to communities in need. It enables him to make resources immediately available to rescue, evacuate, shelter, provide essential commodities (i.e., heating fuel, food, etc.) and quell disturbances in affected localities. It may also position the State to seek federal assistance when the scope of the event exceeds the State's resources.
I know our ADE dance community is working together diligently to ensure our environment is the safest it can be for our dancers and all of us
If you have any further concerns please reach out to us via email at email@example.com
Thank you for your long term support and we look forward to seeing you at one of our future events!
